In a letter to S.S. McClure, Blathwayt discusses a manuscript of interviews with William Clark Russell written for McClure's syndicate, noting that it also includes material on Russell's father Henry. He lists other authors with whom he has done interviews. In a second letter, which is also probably to McClure, Blathwayt mentions interviews he is preparing and encloses an introduction from Hall Caine. In both letters he mentions his interview with Mark Twain, published in the New York World.
